Ebb privacy policy
Ebb is a focus game and a pause before the feed. It has no account and no server. Your answers, scores and gate runs stay on your iPhone, encrypted by iOS. This page explains what stays on the phone and the few things that leave it. Last updated 3 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your data?
The developer of Ebb is responsible for this policy. Ebb has no account and no server of its own, so the developer does not receive your answers, scores or gate runs.
What stays on my phone?
Your onboarding answers, game scores, gate runs (when the Ebb Gate ran, for which app and what you chose), the Screen Time numbers you type in, your Instead items and your settings. This data is stored only on your iPhone and is encrypted at rest by iOS Data Protection. The developer cannot see it.
What does Ebb not collect?
Ebb does not read your app usage or Screen Time. It knows only when its own gate ran, because the Shortcuts automation you created runs it. Ebb collects no name, email, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier or tracking data. It has no ads and no third-party analytics SDK.
What happens with purchases?
Apple handles payments. Ebb uses a third-party billing service to check which plan you have. That service receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history and basic device information needed to validate receipts, and keeps it under its own privacy policy. It does not receive your answers, scores or gate runs. The privacy label lists Purchase History, not linked to you and not used for tracking.
What is in duel links and cards?
A duel code contains a random seed, a game score and a check value, and no personal data. Sharing runs through the iOS share sheet and only when you tap share. The web page that opens a duel link has no cookies and no tracking scripts, and its host keeps standard anonymous request logs. Saving a card to Photos uses add-only permission.
What are anonymous usage stats?
If Anonymous usage stats is on, Ebb keeps a short log on the phone of funnel and settings events, such as which onboarding step was viewed. It never includes app names or the numbers you typed. The log stays on your phone and is included in your data export. You can switch it off under You, Data and privacy.
How do notifications work?
All notifications are scheduled locally on your iPhone. Ebb uses no push server. They cover the end of the minutes you chose, an optional daily game reminder, the weekly check-in and a trial reminder.
How can I control my data?
Export: You, Data and privacy, Export my data creates a JSON file you can keep. Erase: You, Data and privacy, Erase all data deletes everything Ebb stored. Your Shortcuts automations stay in the Shortcuts app until you delete them there, and your App Store subscription stays with your Apple Account.
Is Ebb for children?
Ebb is for people aged 13 and up and is not directed at children under 13. If the policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. Questions can go through You, Help, Contact support in the app or to the address at the end of this page.
